Druivensoort<\/h4>\n

De LUYT Colheita 2017 rode wijn is gemaakt van een enorme vari\u00ebteit aan inheemse Portugese rode druiven soorten. Deze field-blend bevat zo\u2019n 30 verschillende druivenrassen die tegelijkertijd worden geoogst: een deel ervan bijna rijp, een deel rijp en een deel overrijp, wat deze wijn zijn unieke karakter geeft.<\/p>\n

Wijngaard\/Terroir<\/h4>\n

De LUYT Colheita 2017 komt van druiven van een speciaal door Maarten van Luyt geselecteerd veld op gemiddeld 450m hoogte aan de zuidzijde van de Douro vallei in het UNESCO-werelderfgoed gebied. Dit veld wordt ook wel \u201cOld Vineyard\u201d genoemd met een leeftijd van 40 jaar. Dit veld heeft een opbrengst van slechts 2000kg druiven per hectare. Door de indirecte zon op de noordelijke hellingen ontwikkelen de druiven zich hier langzaam maar krachtig, op de bodem van leisteen. Die overdag de warmte opslaat en \u2019s avonds teruggeeft aan de planten.<\/p>\n

Productie<\/h4>\n

De LUYT Colheita 2017 is met de hand geplukt en in 20kg kistjes naar de wijnmakerij gebracht. Hier zijn de druiven gesorteerd, geplet en opgevangen in een lagar (typische open tank in de Douro wijnregio). Tijdens het eerste gistingsproces van 28 dagen bij een maximumtemperatuur van 27 o<\/sup>C is de wijn handmatig gepluncht in plaats van machinaal rondgepompt. Daarna volgde er een tweede (malolactisch) gistingsproces op een temperatuur van 20o<\/sup>C. Uiteindelijk is de wijn geperst en heeft hij minimaal 16 maanden gerijpt in gebruikte vaten van 100% Frans-eiken. Tijdens het bottelproces is de perswijn toegevoegd aan de wijn, wat de fruitigheid en body versterkt.<\/p>\n

Colheita<\/h4>\n

De LUYT Colheita 2017 mag een Colheita genoemd worden omdat hij aan de hoge kwaliteitseisen voldoet van het IVDP (Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e do Porto).<\/p>\n

Jaar<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Het jaar 2017 is voor de Douro wijnen een uitstekend jaar geweest. Winespectator rating 95. Het zeer hete en droge groeiseizoen leidde tot een vroege oogst en de wijngaarden met oude wijnstokken leverden krachtige en genereuze wijnen op.<\/p>\n

Houdbaarheid<\/h4>\n

De LUYT Colheita 2017 kan direct worden gedronken maar ook langere tijd worden opgelegd. Vanaf het moment van bottelen is het een zeer goede wijn, maar zijn beste tijd zal waarschijnlijk in de periode 2021-2027 liggen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

De LUYT Colheita 2017 is een toegankelijke robuuste wijn. Zijn structuur met rijpe tannines geeft een aroma van zachte pepers, rood fruit en gedroogd fruit, kruidig met caramel en lichte vanille. Zijn perfecte balans zorgt voor een soepele afdronk.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

De LUYT Colheita 2017 is uitstekend te drinken als aperitief met stevige kazen; tevens zeer goed in combinatie met rood vlees, wild, pasta en Aziatische gerechten.<\/p>\n
